Christine Milligan Sauter is a skilled, collaborative pianist with experience in classical and contemporary piano, as well as, vocal literature. She has extensive production work with musical theatre and sacred vocal literature. In 1982 she earned a BA in Music from William Smith College with an emphasis on Vocal Coaching, Choral Conducting and Collaborative Piano Skills. For the past thirty-five years Christine has served in a multitude of professional music roles including accompanist, music director, educator, and performer.
With deep experience in music theater, Mrs. Sauter has served as music director, vocal music director, and/or accompanist for numerous productions including: All Shook Up, Bye Bye Birdie, Camelot, Cats, Chess, Fiddler on the Roof, Hairspray, High Society, Into the Woods, King and I, Kiss Me Kate, Lady Day at Emmerson’s Bar and Grill, Les Miserables, Little Women, Man of LaMancha, My Fair Lady, Narnia, Once On This Island, Pippin, Spamalot, The Addams Family, The Producers, Urinetown, West Side Story, and Young Frankenstein to name a few. She received TANYS Award for Excellence in Musical Direction for her work in a production of Man of LaMancha.
Christine has served as Director of Music (Choirmaster and Organist) at various local churches, including First Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church; 1998-present, Director of Music at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Geneva. Responsible for choral development, teaching and performing new repertoire weekly. She is the current accompanist for Geneva City School District accompanying choral rehearsals, concerts, and competitions for some or all academic levels each semester (high school, middle school, elementary school). In addition she’s an accompanist for the Dance Department, Hobart & William Smith Colleges providing piano accompaniment for ballet classes, modern dance classes, and guest artist master classes. In addition to her work as private educator she is also the K-8 General Music Teacher at St. Francis-St. Stephen’s School.
