About Music Lessons

Lessons and practice assignments are tailored to each student’s individual goals, abilities, and learning style. While musical concepts stay the same, the way that each person grasps them is unique. We develop a customized approach to get the student on the right musical path. In addition to voice lessons and a variety of instruments we cover general music knowledge that’s applicable to the student: songwriting, music theory, ear training, composition, improvisation, rhythm, harmony, and melody.

Lessons Include:
– Positive patient sessions
– Music fundamentals [rhythm, melody, harmony]
– Music Creativity [improvisation, songwriting, composition]
– Custom practice sheets
– Email support
– Folder with lesson materials
– Lessons based on music you choose
– Performance opportunities

This covers any previous or future absences.

Attendance
All programs are based on four lessons each month. Students/Parents are responsible for their reserved time slot. If a student is absent from their weekly lesson (for any reason) it is NOT the responsibility of the teacher to make up the lesson. However, months with five weeks provide an opportunity to make-up lessons missed or cancelled by the student/parent. If your instructor cancels then a make-up lesson will be arranged at their earliest convenience at no extra charge.

Fees + Payments

All fees include actual lesson time, travel time/expenses, lesson preparation time and basic lesson materials.

Payments
Payment is to be received the first week of each month to avoid interrupting lessons. Payments can be made by Cash, Check, PayPal, or Credit/Debit Card. Checks or Money Orders should be made payable to: Ostaga Music LLC.

Students that start after the first week of the month will receive a prorated amount for the remainder of the month. Further discounts may be applied for senior citizens or former students from Noisy Neighbor Music and Harmony Elementary school. Discounts or credits to the current month are never applied for lessons missed in previous months.

In emergency situations that make it impossible to continue future lessons a partial refund may be granted in the form of an Ostaga Music Gift Certificate. Student Responsibilities

Materials
Students are responsible for the purchase of their own instruments, books, and materials needed for the lessons. Your instructor will provide custom lesson/practice sheets developed for the student.

Practice
Your instructor will guide you on how much practice is ideal and how to organize practice time. Students are encouraged to practice daily. Once the instructor is gone it is up the student to do their part by practicing and reviewing the material. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain regular practicing time. Parents are encouraged to get involved with the students practice. Take time to listen to your child play what they have learned. Also encourage them to create their own musical ideas. Creating a set time for practicing in the students daily routine is a good way to become involved.
